Arms and ammunition dumped in Sikkim: Biraj

Gangtok, Feb 07: The opposition Sikkim National Peoples Party (SNPP) on Thursday alleged that a large quantity of arms and ammunition belonging to Maoists of Nepal have been dumped in Sikkim.

"We have specific information that two tonne of gelatin sticks have been dumped in forest areas of West District and 200 automatic weapons, including AK series in areas of South District by Nepal-based Maoists, SNPP President Biraj Adhikari told reporters here.

He alleged that the police had knowledge of the matter, but chose to look the other way.
